Margaret Silva Ahuna, 94, of Honokaa died Dec. 9 at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born in Kalopa, she was a homemaker, former employee of Hamakua Country Club, and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Hamakua Country Club. Celebration of life noon Saturday (Jan. 9) at Hamakua Country Club in Honokaa. Casual attire. Dianita Carino Cabalce, 84, of Keaau died Dec. 22 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Santiago, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she worked at Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Holy Rosary Catholic Church. John Keahi Harris Jr., 70, of Paauilo died Nov. 21 at home. Born in Kukaiau, he was a retired night auditor for Uncle Billy’s Kona Bay Hotel and previously worked for Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows, Brioni, King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel, Volcano House and Hawaiian Hauling Services in various auditor and management positions. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Friday (Jan. 8) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire; flowers omitted. Survived by sisters, Betty Raymond and Tedieth P. Maria Oldendorf, 71, of Hilo, Riverside, Calif., and Colorado Springs, Colo., died Dec. 8 at home under care of Hospice of Hilo. She was a state attorney in Colorado, former schoolteacher, onetime Colorado state chapter president of the American Cancer Society, member of Hilo Orchid Society, volunteer at Hilo Medical Center gift shop, gardener and world traveler. Celebration of life in Hilo in June. Memorial donations to ALS Association, Hilo Woman’s Club, Hospice of Hilo and Haili Church. Rosalina “Rose” Guillermo Orita, 77, of Kapaau died Dec. 24 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Waianae, Oahu, she was a retired Kohala Nursery employee, member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Kohala Senior Citizens, receiving the Senior Citizen of the Year Award for 2009 and 2014.
