Similar contributions are being made at food banks on other islands. These contributions came from temple members and friends on all islands as part of an annual fund drive by the Hongwanji’s Committee On Social Concerns. Other needy causes also have received contributions during the year.

Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii is a statewide religious organization which includes 36 Shin Buddhist temples on different islands, plus the Buddhist Study Center and the Pacific Buddhist Academy high school.
