The Hawaii Nei 2015 art exhibit, celebrating the Big Island’s native species, continues through Dec. 17 at the Wailoa Center.

This year’s participation was very enthusiastic with 243 entries submitted by 168 artists ranging from preschoolers to professional artists in the adult division.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Three Mountain Alliance, Natural Area Reserve Systems, Mauna Kea Forest Restoration Project and the Wailoa Center.

Wailoa Center is located at 200 Piopio St. in the Wailoa State River Recreation Area and is a Division of State Parks, Department of Land and Natural Resources. Admission is free and open to the public 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed Saturday, Sunday and state holidays.
