The University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Continuing Education and Community Service is offering courses in Hilo and Kona about managing personal and business online reputations.

Instructor Denise Laitinen will present “Creating Your Personal and Business Social Media Brand” to show participants how to differentiate between the various types of social media and how to build a personal and/or business brand on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Google+. The session is scheduled for 9-11 a.m. Friday in the Maluhia Building Conference Room 116, at 891 Ululani St. in Hilo.

“Reputation Management for Visitor Industry Businesses” teaches participants how to proactively monitor the online reputation of their business/brand and to take action to counter any potential negative impact. This workshop is slated for 9-11 a.m. Oct. 24 at Kealakehe High School, Room F101, at 74-5000 Puohulihuli St. in Kailua-Kona.

The cost for each workshop is $35.
