Police have charged a Pahoa man who was arrested last week following a stabbing in Pohoiki.

Police have charged a Pahoa man who was arrested last week following a stabbing in Pohoiki.

At 6 p.m. Friday, 61-year-old Boris Ivanovich Vereshak, previously identified as Boris Yarmolyk, was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault.

His bail was set at $10,000 and his initial court appearance is scheduled for today.

The victim, a 24-year-old Pahoa man, was released from Hilo Medical Center on Friday after treatment for multiple stab wounds.
