Police have captured a juvenile escapee described as “dangerous.”

Kahekili Krause was arrested Monday, according to police. A police log placed the arrest at about 2:30 p.m. on South Road in Kurtistown.

The 17-year-old offender escaped Sept. 24 from the custody of youth corrections officers, who were transporting him from Pahoa to the Hilo airport to return him to Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility.

Officials have declined to comment further on Krause’s case, noting privacy laws surrounding the juvenile justice system.
