Organizers of the third annual Lilikoi Festival are putting out a call for anyone interested in having a vendor booth at the event or entering the annual cooking contest.

The festival is slated for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at its new location at Makuu Market at 15-2131 Pahoa-Keaau Road (Highway 130), between Keaau and Pahoa.

Anyone interested in sharing their wares or grinds at a vendor booth and those who want to wow festival-goers with their tasty lilikoi dishes should contact Fran Calvert at 982-7511 or visit www.lilikoifestival.com or www.facebook.com/LilikoiFestival for an application or more information.

The popular and fun festival again this year will feature not only the lilikoi-themed cooking contest, but also cooking demonstrations, live music, a silent auction, keiki activities and, of course, vendors of all kinds. There also will be festival T-shirts and lilikoi cookbooks on sale.

Entry fee is just $5 and children 11 years old and younger are free.

For more information, contact Calvert at the number above or visit the above website or the festival at its Facebook page.
