Harry Robert DeConte, 80, of Hilo died July 27 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Hilo Shopping Center, a co-owner of Hilo Harry’s Taxi and a U.S. Army veteran. Jeffrey Fausto Macaysa, 54, of Mountain View died Sept. 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Nedra Elberta Murray, 92, of Volcano died Sept. 28 at home. Ross Akiyoshi Oue, 55, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 18 at home. Born in Kealakekua, he was a self-employed certified public accountant, treasurer for Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Hawaii Island Humane Society, Japanese Civic Association and Kona Community Hospital, finance committee chairman for Hawaii Community Credit Union, board member of Hawaii Public Housing, Kanaueye Kumiai, on Selective Service draft board and representative for Kona and Kauai Hawaii Association of Public Accountants, and member of Teachers’ and Wednesday bowling leagues and “The Braddas” softball league. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 4) at Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Kealakekua. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Memorial donations to American Cancer Society. Pearl Asako Uemoto, 86, of Kealakekua died Sept. 14 at home. Born in Kealakekua, she was owner of Pearl’s Garden Center and a coffee farmer. Services held. Charles “Sonny” Ah Cho Young, 82, of Naalehu died Sept. 2 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, he was a licensed general contractor, owner/operator of A.C. Young Enterprises, A.C. Young Farms and Charlie’s Water Service, macadamia nut and vegetable farmer, past chairman of Ka‘u Soil and Water Conservation District, member of Hawaii County Farm Bureau, Ka‘u Chamber of Commerce and Kaleohano-Wentworth Ohana and Hawaii National Guard veteran. Visitation 5-6 p.m. today (Oct. 1) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 8-10 a.m. Friday (Oct. 2) at the chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial at 1 p.m. at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire; flowers welcome.
