The College of Continuing Education and Community Service at the University of Hawaii at Hilo is offering a Beatles music appreciation class that begins today and a stress-reduction workshop series in October.

The College of Continuing Education and Community Service at the University of Hawaii at Hilo is offering a Beatles music appreciation class that begins today and a stress-reduction workshop series in October.

The Beatles music appreciation class will be from 5:30-7 p.m. today through Oct. 28 in UH-Hilo’s Science and Technology Building, Room 118. The cost is $40.

Beatles In Your Soul will delve into the world of the Beatles with instructor Dennis Alstrand, author of “The Beatles and Their Revolutionary Bass Player.”

Alstrand will take participants on a “magical mystery tour,’ exploring the story of the Beatles, taking a look at the music industry of the times and discovering new ways to listen to their music.

Next month, instructor Deb Lewis will lead My Stress-Filled Life: Better Choices, scheduled for Oct. 14; My Relationships Under Stress: Live and Love Better on Oct. 21; and At My Best: Anything Is Possible on Oct. 28.

All sessions will be conducted in UH-Hilo’s UCB Room 112, with times to be announced. Sessions can be taken as a bundle for $125 or individually for $45.

Lewis will teach participants how to hone their skills in dealing with stress that will enhance almost every aspect of their personal and professional life.
