Luana Zablan, a junior art major at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, received the Audrey S. Furukawa Study Abroad Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for the fall semester.

Luana Zablan, a junior art major at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, received the Audrey S. Furukawa Study Abroad Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for the fall semester.

Zablan, a Kanu o ka ‘Aina alumna who carries a 3.7 grade point average, is attending Anglo-American University, Czech Republic. The ASF Study Abroad Scholarship was created to provide a UH-Hilo student with an opportunity to study abroad and begin their global education journey.

The scholarship is available to full-time and classified UH-Hilo students who meet the following criteria:

• 24 completed college credits at time of departure.

• 3.2 cumulative UH-Hilo GPA.

• Studying abroad for at least one semester.

• No prior studying abroad experiences of more than a month.

• Recipient must return to UH-Hilo upon completion of study abroad program.
