TEXAS IN FALL

TEXAS IN FALL

New England has the country’s most famous fall foliage, but many other parts of the country also offer autumn colors — including Texas.

Best leaf-peeping in the Lone Star State ranges from seeing the maples at Lost Maples State Park in Hill Country, northwest of San Antonio, to the red and gold sweetgum and oak in the pineywoods of East Texas at Dangerfield, Lake Bob Sandlin and Cooper Lake state parks.

In western Texas, cottonwoods turn bright yellow at Caprock Canyons and Palo Duro Canyon state parks in the Panhandle and Davis Mountains State Park.
