The Hawaii Police Department reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday that Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 190) between the 7- and 13-mile markers is experiencing heavy rainfall, ponding and fog.

The Hawaii Police Department reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday that Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 190) between the 7- and 13-mile markers is experiencing heavy rainfall, ponding and fog.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible because of these hazardous conditions or take alternate routes.

The roadway remains open but extreme caution is advised.
