Aloha Performing Arts Company will resume its roster of theater education opportunities for all ages later this month.

Artistic director Jerry Tracy’s “Tuesday Troupers” class for budding performers 8-12 years old will begin Aug. 25 and meet for six Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m., ending Sept. 29 with a free public performance at 5 p.m.

Students will work on developing and maintaining the tools and skills required for performing on stage. Tracy will be assisted by Aloha Teen Theatre member Riley Newton. Tuition for “Tuesday Troupers” is $60 per student.

Megan Hodge will continue APAC’s “Keiki Theatre” class for ages 3-7 from 4-5 p.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 24-Sept. 28.

This is a fun and meaningful introduction to theater basics, featuring games, building characters and gaining self-confidence. There will be six meetings, with a sharing show on the final day. Tuition is $40 per student.

Felicity Johnson kicks off the next six-week session of her “Intergenerational Acting” class for all ages from 2-4 p.m. Thursdays, Aug. 27-Oct. 1. No experience is required and newcomers are welcome. A free public show will be offered on the final class day. Tuition is $60 per student.

All the above classes will be conducted at the historic Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu.

In addition, new adviser Engela Edwards will meet with Aloha Teen Theatre from 4:30-6:30 p.m. every Friday at the APAC Loft, across the street from Aloha Theatre, on the second floor of the building housing King’s Daughters Thrift Shop. Participation is free and open to ages 13-18.

Educational as well as performance and travel opportunities are in the Aloha Teen Theatre plans.

No previous theater experience is necessary to participate, and nonperforming possibilities are available.
