EcoCab founder David Jung and his younger brother, Scott, are planning to walk a 130-plus-mile perimeter walk of Oahu to benefit Shriners Hospital for Children in Hawaii.

The campaign, “Saving the Planet One Mile at a Time for Our Keiki,” will start at 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at EcoCab’s headquarters at 3060 Ualena St. The walk is estimated to take five to six days, ending back at the EcoCab offices.

There is a www.indiegogo.com account that has just less than $600 for this campaign as of last Monday.

EcoCab has a fleet of 44 cabs and 120 employees using Hyundai Sonata hybrid cars helping to lower the consumption of fuel and gas emission, becoming the first cab company in Hawaii to go green.
