The Big Island Filipino Community Council invites everyone to its 2015 Miss Hawaii Island Filipina Scholarship Pageant Saturday night at Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.

The Big Island Filipino Community Council invites everyone to its 2015 Miss Hawaii Island Filipina Scholarship Pageant Saturday night at Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance at $12 or $15 at the door. Call Melba Daak at 895-8706 or Christina Ranan at 640-4180 for tickets.

This year’s contestants are:

• Eunice Bernal, 20, Keaau High School graduate, attends the University of Hawaii at Hilo majoring in psychology. The daughter of Benigno and Emelda Bernal of Keaau.

• Jasmin Mae Quiamas, 19, Honokaa High School graduate, attends the University of Hawaii at Hilo majoring in kinesiology and exercise science, and also pursuing a certificate in the Filipino Studies Program. She is the daughter of Gloria Quiamas of Honokaa.

• Kamakaila Ku’uleialoha Waipa, 19, Kamehameha Schools Hawaii graduate, attends the University of Hawaii at Hilo pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in communications. She is the daughter of Duwayne Kaleo Kawai Holi Waipa and Jenilee Keli‘inani Waipa of Hilo.

• Iziahlou Labasan, 21, graduate of San Benito High School in Texas, plans to attend Hawaii Community College to continue studies for an LPN degree.
