KDEN’s mission is to provide and promote top- quality community theater in East Hawaii, seeking to enrich and unite the community through participation in the performing arts. To date, it has produced 20 shows as well as a living history program in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. KDEN provides community theater opportunities for people of all ages, experience levels and backgrounds to participate in live theater (in many of the productions, parents, aunties and uncles perform with their children and nieces and nephews).

Theater is unique among artistic disciplines in that it offers many ways to participate.

This summer, KDEN presents Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The King and I” July 10-26 at KMC’s Kilauea Theater.
