Hilo Circuit Judge Glenn Hara ordered Wendell Reed Santiago to stand trial at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 12.

Santiago pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted sexual assault of a minor, a Class A felony punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment, plus domestic abuse and two counts of providing alcohol to a minor, all misdemeanors.

The charges stem from an alleged May 31 incident in Pahoa. Santiago was indicted last week by a Hilo grand jury.
