Hawaii Aerial and Performing Arts announces its summer class series June 5 to July 17 at Waikoloa Community Park and CrossFit AllStar in Waimea.

Joining the series will be guest teachers and performers Jenna Brooke Swanson of Portland, Ore., and Leah Lalita Lekich of Nashville, Tenn.,

Waikoloa’s Shanon Sidell and Ronja Giesser, founders of Hawaii Aerial and Performing Arts, have been teaching aerial fabric classes for beginning and more experienced students in New Jersey, Nicaragua, Germany, Waimea and Waikoloa Village since 2013.

Kicking off the summer session is a free-for-the-community Family Circus Night from 6-7:30 p.m. June 5 at the Waikoloa Community Park building.

Participants will have the opportunity to satisfy their curiosity for circus arts by safely experiencing instruction in various aerial and ground arts.

RSVP to hawaiiaerialperformingarts@gmail.com or call 330-623-7425.

With the arrival of Swanson and Lekich in June, classes are expanding to include aerial ring (lyra hoop), static trapeze, aerial rope, aerial yoga, hand-balancing, handstand, yoga for aerialists, flexibility/contortion and belly dance.

Hawaii Aerial and Performing Arts strives to bring aerial, circus and performing arts to the heart of the community, encouraging all its members, young and old, to experience the wonder of modern circus. The programs include classes for children, teens and adults of all ages and all fitness levels.
