Memorial services 1 p.m. Sunday, May 31 at OTEC Beach Park. Survived by parents, Nelson and Deena Kahele of Captain Cook and Emma Kahele of Ocean View; brothers, Bruce (Ariana) Kahele Jr. of Honolulu, William Kahele of Ocean View and Issac (Emmalyn) Kahele of Milolii; sisters, Nalani (Eddie) Miller of Williston, N.D., Sierra (Keoni) Kama of Ocean View, Salena Kahele, Waipiolani Kahele and Leiahi Kahele of Captain Cook, Judie Kahele of Kailua-Kona. Ann Shirley Paro Sakai, 75, of Fremont, Calif., formerly of Kohala, died April 2. Born in Kohala, she was a housewife. Visitation 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by husband, Edwin Sakai of Fremont, Calif.; sons, Zel (Lisa) West of Waikoloa and Anthony (Penny) West of Avondale, Ariz.; daughters, Andrea (Harry) DeConte of Fremont, Calif., and Bernie (Gary) Akau of Honolulu; brothers, Ernest (Doreen) Paro and Raymond Paro of Kohala, Benjamin Tario of Honolulu; sister, Joan “Nina” Costa of Sacramento, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
