Police are investigating the theft of a fuel tanker that occurred last month in Honomu.

Police are investigating the theft of a fuel tanker that occurred last month in Honomu.

The custom-made 500-gallon diesel fuel tanker with a red Honda fuel pump was on a double-axle trailer on Old Mamalahoa Highway near the Honomu transfer station. It was rusted silver with a pump and nozzle toward the back and had diamond-shaped placards with “1993” on the front and side.

Anyone with information about the theft or the tanker’s location is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311.

Those who prefer anonymity can call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
