Emmett Enriques led the Warriors to their second consecutive BIIF championship with sweeps over Waiakea and Hilo in the playoffs over the weekend at Hilo Civic.

In the title match against the Vikings, the senior outside hitter pounded 16 kills for Kamehameha, which earned a No. 2 seed in the HHSAA Division I state tournament and a host spot at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Koaia Gym against the Kalaheo-Lahainaluna winner.

The 6-foot-1 Enriques has followed in the footsteps of his older brother Evan Enriques, who’s now at Stanford. During their time at Kamehameha, the brothers have carried the program to state championship appearances against Punahou in 2012 and last year.

Emmett has a chance to outshine his brother, beginning Saturday in his final home match. The state semifinals will be held May 15 at Moanalua High on Oahu
