Dr. James “Doc” Douglas Gibson, 87, of Waikoloa died April 19 at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Denver, he practiced general surgery and retired to Waikoloa in 1989. Private service. Survived by wife, Diane Gibson of Waikoloa; sons, James Gibson Jr. of Denver and William Gibson of France; brother, George (Cornelia) Gibson of Denver; sister, Retta Ferguson of Denver; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
