Roller derby fans won’t want to miss Hilo’s own Paradise Roller Girls team the Hawaiian HoneyBadgers take on Oahu’s Pacific Roller Derby Hulagans at 5 p.m. May 16 at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

Roller derby fans won’t want to miss Hilo’s own Paradise Roller Girls team the Hawaiian HoneyBadgers take on Oahu’s Pacific Roller Derby Hulagans at 5 p.m. May 16 at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

Tickets are $5 general admission and free for children 5 and younger. Tickets are available at Kadota Liquor, Lucy’s Taqueria, Mt. View Video, Jungle Love in Pahoa, CD Wizard (add $1 surcharge) or online at www.paradiserollergirls.com, or from a local favorite derby girl. Tickets also will be sold at the door, and it’s Military Appreciation Night: free admission with valid military ID.

The concession will be open, along with a merchandise booth and other vendors. Strollers, coolers and beverage containers are prohibited.

PRG is a Women’s Flat Track Derby Association league based in Hilo and adheres to the association’s rules and regulations. The league’s diverse skaters of all ages and backgrounds promote a healthy and athletic lifestyle, and serve the community through the alternative sport of roller derby.
