A 52-year-old man participating in the Lavaman triathlon was transported to North Hawaii Community Hospital today in critical condition after being found floating unconscious in Anaehoomalu Bay.

A 52-year-old man participating in the Lavaman triathlon was transported to North Hawaii Community Hospital today in critical condition after being found floating unconscious in Anaehoomalu Bay.

The Hawaii Fire Department said the man was not breathing and without a pulse when they arrived on scene. He was revived and transported to the hospital.

The race starts with a 1,500-meter swim in the bay. It also includes a 40-kilometer bike ride and 10-kilometer run.
