Police closed the Wainaku Street bridge over the Wailuku River around 4 p.m. Tuesday in response to a call of a woman who may have fallen from the bridge.
Police closed the Wainaku Street bridge over the Wailuku River around 4 p.m. Tuesday in response to a call of a woman who may have fallen from the bridge.
Firefighters and police used rope hooked up to a pulley system to try to reach the woman as a crowd of onlookers watched from across Wailuku Drive. A crowd also gathered on the Puueo Street bridge looking mauka as rescue workers climbed on the rocks below to retrieve the woman.
Police did not provide any information as of presstime Tuesday, and it was unclear if the woman was recovered or what condition she was in.
