Police arrested a 60-year-old Ocean View man on suspicion of first-degree arson Friday night for allegedly starting a fire that destroyed the home where he lived.

Police arrested a 60-year-old Ocean View man on suspicion of first-degree arson Friday night for allegedly starting a fire that destroyed the home where he lived.

Martin Mario Molina was taken into custody after telling officers he started the fire at 92-8412 Pineapple Parkway, according to a written Fire Department statement. He had not been charged as of Saturday morning.

No injuries were reported. The other three occupants of the house were not at home when the fire occurred.

Eight units responded to the 6:07 p.m. alarm. The first unit arrived at 6:21 p.m. to find the two-story home at the corner of Pineapple Parkway and Hukilau Drive fully involved in flames.

The structure was a total loss with damage estimated at $270,000.

According to county property tax records, the owners of the home are Arlene Anzelde and Shelley L. Molina.

The Red Cross responded to provide services to those displaced by the fire.
