The Lani Kauikeaouli tribute festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m Friday, March 13, at the Sheraton Kona Resort &Spa at Keauhou Bay in Kona. Dr. Kamana Beamer will present “Kauikeaouli: A man of vision.”

The Lani Kauikeaouli tribute festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m Friday, March 13, at the Sheraton Kona Resort &Spa at Keauhou Bay in Kona. Dr. Kamana Beamer will present “Kauikeaouli: A man of vision.”

On Saturday, March 14, the celebration continues from 4:30-10 p.m. on the Hawaii lawn at the Sheraton with a free concert featuring John Cruz, Brittni Paiva, Natalie Ai Kamau‘u and Mele‘uhane. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, pick a spot and browse the Hawaiian vendor marketplace. Students of Ke Kula o Ehunuikaimalino and Kanu o ka ‘Aina will participate in an ongoing Mele Murals live art exhibition on site throughout the day.

Donations and proceeds from the event will benefit Mele Murals, an art education and cultural preservation community program encouraging leadership development among Hawaii’s youth.

Then at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, the Daughters of Hawaii, the Royal Order of Kamehameha and Kamehameha Schools invite all to join them for a special tribute ceremony honoring Kauikeaouli at the place of his birth at Keauhou Bay.
