In observance of Christmas activities at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, there will be a temporary one-way traffic pattern on Kapiolani Street.
Traffic will be allowed only in the Puna, or southerly, direction on Kapiolani between Waianuenue Avenue and Haili Street from 4 p.m. Christmas Eve (Wednesday, Dec. 24) to 3 a.m. Christmas Day (Thursday, Dec. 25) and again from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. on Christmas Day.
During these times, parking will be allowed on both sides of Kapiolani.
