Close to Christmastime, amid all the holiday bunting, bustling shopping malls and hired Santas, a strange feeling sets in for many, a feeling that could be called “gift-wrapped emptiness.”

Close to Christmastime, amid all the holiday bunting, bustling shopping malls and hired Santas, a strange feeling sets in for many, a feeling that could be called “gift-wrapped emptiness.”

The folks at Aloha Farms are offering a chance to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas. This year, the celebration begins at 5 p.m. Christmas Day, Dec. 25, with kirtan and dancing to live music. Kirtan is an ancient tradition of singing the names of God congregationally. The evening will end with a home-cooked vegetarian feast and bonfire.

Aloha Farms is located in the Pahoa area. Call Amanda at 965-9198 for directions and more information.
