Police have identified the body found in Waipio Valley on Sunday as 22-year-old Lindsey Nickerson of Kailua-Kona, a student at University of the Nations.
An autopsy determined that she died of asphyxia due to drowning.
Nickerson was last seen alive Saturday afternoon when she separated from a group of 25 persons during a hike in Waipio Valley.
