It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Well, almost, anyway. And what better way to celebrate it than with a Christmas concert?

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Well, almost, anyway. And what better way to celebrate it than with a Christmas concert?

On Dec. 10, the Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra will hold its first fundraiser of the season, “Christmas in Hawaii,” featuring Bill Noble’s Big Island Band and vocalist Betsy Curtis.

The event will be held at the luau grounds of the Mauna Kea Beach Resort at 5 p.m.

“It’s going to be a fantastic, beautiful evening. Come and enjoy a gorgeous view of the Hawaiian sunset as we listen to world-class musicians perform many of the classic Christmas songs we all know and love,” said an orchestra spokesman.

Bandleader Bill Noble’s illustrious career has included appearances with famous artists such as Ray Charles, The Temptations, and Gladys Knight. Betsy Curtis, in the meantime, has released three CDs (including one with Bill Noble) and toured extensively in Japan. She has appeared on stage with many supremely talented musicians, including The Carpenters, the Kingston Trio and Jose Feliciano, the songwriter behind “Feliz Navidad.”

Come sit by the Christmas tree, eat some delicious food, and have a few drinks while supporting the Kamuela Philharmonic. Tickets are $75, available online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/956467, or by calling 1-800-838-3006.
