Full Life recently received a grant in the amount of $20,000 from Hawaii Community Foundation’s Omidyar `Ohana Fund and the Oscar L. and Ernestine H. Armstrong Advised Fund.
Full Life recently received a grant in the amount of $20,000 from Hawaii Community Foundation’s Omidyar `Ohana Fund and the Oscar L. and Ernestine H. Armstrong Advised Fund.
The grant will help in continuing Full Life’s mission of assisting individuals with developmental disabilities on Hawaii Island.
According to Stone Wolfsong, executive director, part of the funds will be used to improve staff training — giving Full Life Direct Support workers the tools they need to teach skills in individuals’ homes, communities and workplaces.
The balance of the funds will support Full Life programs which include personal assistance, employment supports, and two adult day health programs, the Kona Learning Center and the Ho‘omohala Autism Center in Hilo.
Full Life incorporated as a nonprofit in May 2000. Founded by a local family, its sole purpose is to support individuals with developmental disabilities to live self-determined lives.
