The Akaka Falls Lions Club has recruited nine new Lions over the recent months in conjunction with District 50 Governor Jim Bryan’s membership initiative throughout the state.

“Sharing the opportunity to serve our community has been our message to attract new Lions to our organization,” stated Club Membership Chair Blayne Hanagami. “We are delighted with this core of new members who have already taken on many of our community service projects.”

This districtwide membership initiative will continue throughout this program year and beyond as recruitment worldwide via The Lions Clubs International.

Some of Akaka Falls Lions Club Service Projects include: vision and hearing screening, Akaka Falls Park and Highway clean up, Weinberg Projects to support non-profits, fence mending at Clem Akina Park and Gilbert Carvalho Park, youth and literacy initiatives, domestic violence prevention, blood drives, support to the homeless and hungry.
