Edna Sakae De Mello, 93, of Hilo died Oct. 26 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hakalau, she was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Services held. Survived by daughters, Doris Fukui, Shirley (Eugene) Yamane and Kathleen (Edward) Reis of Hilo; son, Duane (Janice) De Mello of Hilo; sister, Barbara Miyose of Hilo; brother, Tadao “Kenneth” Endo of Hilo; 10 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; nieces and nephews. Aylene S. Nabeta, 87, of Hilo died Nov. 2 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired First Hawaiian Bank clerk. Services held. No koden. Survived by son, Nelson Y. (Carolyn) Nabeta of Oahu; daughter, Mildred S.N. (Ted) Matsuo of Hilo; brother, Richard (Elizabeth) Nakamura of California; sister, Elsie Asuka of Oahu; sisters-in-law, Hazel Nakamura of Oahu and Nora Nabeta of Hilo; brother-in-law, Ralph (Mildred) Nabeta of California; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Suzanne Noreen Sheppard, 63, of Ewa Beach, Oahu, formerly of Hilo died, Oct. 18 at The Queen’s Medical Center West on Oahu. Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., she was an adult home care case manager, inspirational Christian singer, member of Harbor of Faith Church at Pearl Harbor, and sang in the choirs at First Assembly of God, Hickam Air Force Base Chapel and River of Life in Honolulu. Services held. Survived by mother, Jean Prowant of Long Beach, Calif.; brothers, Michael James Tarring and James (Diane) Edward Tarring of Hilo; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Michael Howard Sylva, 55, of Ocean View died Oct. 28 in Honolulu. He was a mechanic and U.S. Army veteran. Private services at a later date. Rosalina A. Tolentino, 89, of Ookala died Oct. 21 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born in Kukuihaele, she was a clerk for M. Nakahara Store in Hawi and member of Papaaloa St. Anthony Church, Maryknoll Sisters, Laupahoehoe Senior Citizens and Hawaii County Nutrition Program. Visitation 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 9-10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Burial at Mauna Kea Memorial Park, Kaieie Homestead Rd., Papaikou. Survived by son, Edwin C.
