Linda Lapinid Ganigan, 70, of Hilo died Oct. 9 in Honolulu. Born in Honokaa, she was retired from KTA Super Stores Puainako and a member of Wainaku Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Visitation 2-3 p.m. Saturday at Paukaa Kingdom Hall, 445 Kulana Rd. Service at 3 p.m. No flowers. Survived by husband, Martin “Sonny” Ganigan Jr.; son, Jason (Sheila) Ganigan; daughters, Michele Ha‘o, Joy (Byron) Jitchaku and Shareen Ganigan of Hilo; Marsha (Geno) Mamone, of Fayetteville, N.C.; brothers, Rocky (Sheree) Lapinid of Paauilo and Floyd (Heather) Lapinid of Waikoloa; sisters, Fina Cariaga, Lauren Aragon of California, Beverly (Benjamin) Joaquin of Papaaloa, Angela (Jonathan) Ponce of Hilo, Sheila (Duane) De Luz of Paauilo and Aileen (Jacob) Thomas of Honolulu; eight grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

Florence Anna Tokue Kunitomo Jacobson, 83, of Volcano died Oct. 15 at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Honolulu, she was a music teacher. Services held. David A. Renken, 75, of Pahoa died Oct. 2 at home. Born in St. Louis, he was a retired director of fixed operations for Toyota in California, sommelier and gourmet cook, U.S. Army veteran, member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church and German Shephard Dog Club of America and various classic car clubs. Pearl Katherine Spalding Wong, 72, of Hilo died Oct. 17 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born in Hilo, she was a family support services specialist for Hilo YWCA and member of Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church, Hale O Na Alii, Keola Pono No Na Kupuna (Alu and Hilo Ohana Horseshoe Pitchers Club. Visitation 8-9 a.m. Friday at Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church. Celebration of life at 9 a.m. Scattering of ashes to follow at Puhi Bay. Casual attire.
