The latest loss for the University of Hawaii women’s soccer team left coach Michele Nagamine fuming.

Long Beach State scored a goal in each half Thursday night, beating the Rainbow Wahine 2-0 at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex on Oahu.

After UH’s third consecutive defeat, Nagamine called out her team for its effort.

“We just didn’t show up today, and this in unacceptable,” Nagamine said on the OCSports broadcast. “I’m sick of this. This is ridiculous. The lack of details, very sloppy, lack of discipline.”

Nagamine said the Wahine (6-9, 1-4 Big West) would “practice without balls” on Saturday, suggesting a fair amount of running would be included.

“We didn’t play well and we need to be held accountable,” she said. “We’re going to build a little character. This is unacceptable. This is absolutely unacceptable.”

UH entered the contest as the league’s highest-scoring team, but they were shut out for the second consecutive match despite outshooting the 49ers (6-5-2, 2-1-2) 13-7.

Long Beach State put only three shots on frame, scoring on two of them. Mimi Rangel scored from 15 yards out on the right side of the box in the 28th minute, and Vania Robles added a goal in the 52nd minute.

Ashton McKeown stopped five shots for Long Beach.
