World War II veteran Sanford Yanagi of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team gives his great-granddaughter, Leana Yanagi, 2, a kiss on the cheek Tuesday morning during the inaugural opening of the “Go for Broke” exhibit at the Hawaii Japanese Center in Hilo. The traveling exhibit features the stories of Japanese American soldiers fighting on two fronts. The exhibit has been traveling for 10 years and will be in Hilo until Oct. 11.
