RBI softball, baseball sign-ups

The Nobu Yamauchi 18-under RBI girls softball and 13-18 boys baseball teams are accepting teams or individual players to participate in their Winter League.

Games will start in mid-October and end in mid-December. Girls games will be played on Sundays while the boys will be playing during the weekdays.

HPA fun run/dog walk benefit set

Hawaii Preparatory Academy invites runners, walkers, friendly canines and families to participate in the fourth Bieni 5K Fun Run and Dog Walk at 9 a.m. Sept. 28 on the school’s cross-country course.

Net proceeds from the event will fund the annual Bieni Kohler-Johnson ’83 Scholarship at HPA. Registration and pledges are available online at flpregister.com/102.

Entry fee is $25 for adults, $10 for students 10 and under, with a late fee of an additional $10 after Sept. 9.

Kamehameha cheer camp

Kamehameha-Hawaii will be hosting a fall youth cheer camp Oct. 17-19.

The camp runs 3:30-5:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Oct. 18-19 for boys and girls in kindergarten through the fifth grade.

Registration is $55 per participant and will be accepted until the first day of camp.

According to a release, “participants will receive personalized instruction on stunting, team-building, cheers, jumps, dances and tumbling.”

Hilo Vulcan Boosters lunch

The Hilo Vulcan Booster Club’s monthly luncheon will be held at noon Tuesday at Coqui’s Hideaway Restaurant on Kamehameha Avenue in Hilo.

Guest speakers for the first lunch of the school year will be the cross country team and the women’s volleyball team.

The cost of the lunch is $15 per person.
