The Volcano Art Center Gallery will open Tiny Treasures II, an exhibit of small sculpture and jewelry by Hawaii Island artists, at a reception with the artists from 5-7 p.m.on Saturday, Sept. 13.

Exhibitors will include Lisa Louise Adams, Henry Bianchini, Brenda May Ching, Wayne Keeth, Amy Flanders , Kimberly Langston Hagen, Bea Israel, Heather Mettler, Elizabeth Miller, Stone O’Daugherty, Pat Pearlman, Daniel E. Rokovitz, Jeff Roth, Tad Sewell, Jamie Stokes and Ivy Torres.

According to VAC Gallery Manager Shelby Smith, the 16 artists were invited with a challenge to create work that would fit within an 8-inch cube, but were asked to think outside of their normal “boxes” to create new and innovative pieces. The exhibit will include work in a wide variety of media including metal, glass, wood, ceramics and textiles.

This exhibit will run through Nov. 9. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. The gallery is located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and park entrance fees apply.

The center is a nonprofit educational organization created in 1974 to promote, develop and perpetuate the artistic and cultural heritage of Hawaii’s people and environment through activities in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Please visit www.volcanoartcenter.org.
