The members of the Akaka Falls Lions Club has donated books for children staying at Hilo Medical Center.

On July 30, the club presented 60 Scholastic books to the hospital and staff on the Laulima Unit, which cares for keiki. The donation includes 10 books for each level in grades 1-6. These books will be made available through HMC’s Patient Satisfaction Representatives, who will offer them to children requiring care at the hospital.

“I am excited to pass these books out to our pediatric patients,” said Patient Satisfaction Representative Selisa Wright. “We’re always looking for books for kids of this age group so this is an excellent addition to our traveling library.”
