HVO geologists said Thursday morning the flow might have stalled after a flyover Wednesday found no visible activity at its outer edges.
Janet Babb, HVO geologist, said another overflight Thursday afternoon confirmed that is not the case.
“The inference is it is continuing to move into a crack,” she said.
The flow is about 2 miles from the Kaohe Homesteads, and has been watched closely since it was labeled as a “potential concern” by geologists a week ago.
Hawaii County Civil Defense hosted another meeting about the flow Thursday evening at the Pahoa Community Center.
