Police nabbed an alleged Hale Nani Correctional Facility escapee Sunday night in Hilo.

According to a police log, 27-year-old Kalaikona Abraham Fukuhara was arrested at 9:35 p.m. at a Liliuokalani Lane home.

He was booked on suspicion of second-degree escape and second-degree promotion of prison contraband. He had not been charged as of noon Monday.

According to the state Department of Public Safety, Fukuhara, who was serving time for burglary, ran away from the community-based facility in Panaewa at about 8:30 p.m. Friday.

He was the second Hale Nani inmate to bolt in a two-day period. Another, Sean Duyser, was caught Thursday several hours after escaping from the facility.
