An unattended candle caused a fire in a Puna home early this morning, according to the Fire Department.

An unattended candle caused a fire in a Puna home early this morning, according to the Fire Department.

Seven units responded to the 3:06 a.m. alarm on Nanawale Boulevard, according to a written statement. The first unit arrived 10 minutes later to find the single-story structure involved with heavy flames in the living area and patio and flames coming from the ceiling.

The occupant escaped unharmed. There was no estimate of damages.
