The electrical damage prompted at least one airline to divert nighttime flights to Kona International Airport. According to the state Department of Transportation, United Airlines chose to divert a flight on Monday and Tuesday nights to Kona airport.

Nighttime flights were back to normal Wednesday, according to DOT.
