A meditation retreat with Anam Thubtan Rinpoche is scheduled from Friday through Sunday, Aug. 1-3, in Kohala.

“The focus of the retreat is to unburden ourselves from mental habits that cause unnecessary suffering and to realize our natural state which is the inner dimension of peace, joy and love.,” said spokeswoman Suga Kim.

Anam Thubten invites everyone to experience this spiritual transformation through meditation practice and the timeless teachings of the Buddha.

A free talk from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday will be hosted at Tutu’s House in Waimea.

The weekend retreat will be from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at a private location. Directions will be given with registration. The weekend fee is $12, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Space is limited.
