Loretta Lorraine Evangelista, 68, of Hilo died Tuesday, June 24, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Hilo, dhe was a retired housekeeper. Visitation from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; Funeral Service at 10 a.m.; cremation to follow at Dodo Mortuary. Aloha attire, no flowers. Survived by hanai sons, Troy Julian and Kaniala Estrada; hanai daughters, Patrice Julian and Fern Peahi; brother, Raymond Agpoon; sisters, Florence Respicio and Odetta Ah Nee; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Diane Hisako Hara, 93, of Hilo died at home on Friday, June 6. Born in Honalo, Kona, she was the retired owner of the former Kilauea Preserve Center. She was also a member of the Hilo Hooganji Mission. Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary chapel on Sunday from 2-3 p.m., where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Casual attire, no flowers. Survived by sons, Glenn (Janet) Hara of Hilo, and Bradley Hara of Honolulu, Oahu; sisters, Grace Uyemura of Honolulu, Oahu, and Theresa Lee of Ahualoa; three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews. Spencer “Poco” Lee Kawaihoola Pomroy, 49, of Mountain View died June 21 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a bus driver for Roberts Hawaii Tours for the islands of Hawaii, Oahu, Maui and Kauai and also for Hawaii County Hele On Bus, owner of Volcano Sound System with Slides by Deysia Views and committee president for the Pomroy family reunions. Friends may call from 8-10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. A memorial Mass will also take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at St. George Catholic Church in Waimanalo, Oahu, 41-1323 Kalanianaole Hwy. Jeffrey “Jeff” James Salonia, 67, of Kailua-Kona died July 3 at his residence. Born in Middletown, Connecticut, he was a retired operating engineer, a grade setter and member of IUOE Local 12 and 3. Velma Leilehua Tanaka, 57, of Keaau died at the Hilo Medical Center on Tuesday, May 20. Born in Pahala, she was a homemaker.
