Cathleen Anne Sullivan Mershant, 55, of Ocean View died June 5 at home. Born in San Francisco, she was a homemaker, Kuntao Silat Dethouars martial arts instructor and former manager of Honaunau Stop &Shop. Celebration of life at 10 a.m. July 12 at Old Kona Airport beach pavilion No. 3. Service at 11 a.m. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in her name to a charity of choice. Survived by husband, Bahati Mershant of Ocean View; daughters, Tress Fry and Jessie Russell both of Anchorage, Alaska; sons, Butch (Monica) Chatfield of Camp Pendleton, Calif., Paxton Chatfield of Wasilla, Alaska; sisters, Sarah (Stan) Afoa of Anchorage, Karen Blackmore of Wasilla, Alaska, and Shannon Town of Anchorage; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Dolores Thomas, 73, of Pahoa died June 27 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born in Hilo, she retired as a homemaker. Visitation at 10 a.m. July 11 at Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home. Service at 10:30 a.m. followed by refreshments and lunch. Survived by sons, Antone (Maggie) Ancheta of Mountain View, Lorenzo Ancheta of Puna, Ashley Ancheta of Kauai, Reynold Thomas of Puna, Charles Thomas of Honolulu and David Thomas of Puna; daughters, Rosemary Thomas of Honolulu, Beatrice Mussro of California and Brenda Wallace of Honolulu; brothers, Samuel Fernandez of Honolulu and Raymond Barry of Kona; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
