Hilo Medical Center and the Hilo Medical Center Foundation hosted a welcome reception June 27 at the hospital’s River Cottage for its first class of residents for the Hawaii Island Family Medicine Residency Program. The first class of residents consists of Dr. Ka‘ohimanu Akiona, Dr. Hamed Ahmadinia, and Dr. Svetlana Shchedrina, with a fourth resident to be announced at a later date.
