The University of Hawaii at Hilo announces the appointment of its new financial aid manager/financial aid director, Sherrie Padilla, who joins UH-Hilo from Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, Calif., where she served as director of financial aid for over a decade.

She brings 25 years of experience in financial aid in addition to serving as a regional representative, treasurer and president of the California Community College Student Financial Aid Administrator’s Association (CCCSFAAA). The CCCSFAAA represents financial aid professionals in all 112 community colleges in the California community college system. Padilla’s contributions, extensive background, and knowledge of financial aid and the Banner Student and Financial Aid System attributed to her many awards and recognition from CCCSFAAA.

“We are very happy and excited to have Sherrie join UH-Hilo and the Division of Student Affairs Financial Aid Office,” said Gail Makuakane-Lundin, interim vice chancellor of student affairs. “Her experience and knowledge of financial aid will be a tremendous asset to our campus and community.” Padilla holds an MBA and a BS in business administration from the University of La Verne.
