Two Athletes and a coach from Hilo were recently part of Hui O Hawaii proudly representing the Big Island and State of Hawaii by taking the Aloha Spirit to the 2014 Special Olympic USA Games in New Jersey with 3,500 other athletes from across the nation.

Two Athletes and a coach from Hilo were recently part of Hui O Hawaii proudly representing the Big Island and State of Hawaii by taking the Aloha Spirit to the 2014 Special Olympic USA Games in New Jersey with 3,500 other athletes from across the nation.

Kalani Gonsalves of Hilo won two silvers in the 4×100 and the 400 meter races. Daylan Toribio of Hilo won a gold medal in the 100 meter and two silvers in both the 200 meter and 4×100 meter races.

Hilo coach Dave Baldwin led the Hui O Hawaii squad.
